latent spacial upscaler input limit?

Can it be it does not like input resolutions of 0.5 Mega Pixel? The upscale ends up softer and worse in many ways than the source.

Actually upscaling from 544x960 to 1088x1920 is the most common scenario.
Pay attention that it is 544 and not regular 540 since this number should be divisible by 32.
